Tuesday Tidbit

October 1, 2019

The theme for October is “ETC by the numbers.” ETC is committed to helping women in rural Nepal raise greater quantities of more nutritious food, and earn more money doing it. As an example, mushrooms are a nutritious and high-value crop that can grow year-round in relatively short cycles. During the first half of 2019, 31 ETC women’s group members earned an average of $50 each from selling their mushrooms, representing for many an increase in household income of 10-25%! Pictured here, our agricultural specialist Kumar Pahari advises a member of Gurans Women’s Group (Lamidanda).
