About Sponsorship
Starting or renewing a sponsorship is an excellent way to make a lasting contribution to women and children in Nepal. Please click on one of the images below for more information about the various opportunities.
A quick note about sponsorships and communication:
Some people have expressed a wish to to send packages and letters to us (U.S. staff), and have us pass those things along to the sponsored child or women’s group.
That’s a very kind thought, but unfortunately it’s not practicable. It makes things very difficult on our Nepal staff and causes us to incur additional expenses. Sending packages to Nepal is expensive (for ETC) and takes a long time. Once a package or letter finally arrives, an ETC-Nepal staff member has to take charge of it and ensure that it gets to its intended destination, which is added work for them – and they’re already working very hard indeed. Moreover, it can cause bad feeling and resentment if, for example, a few children receive something from their sponsors and the rest do not.
We therefore ask for your understanding when we request that you NOT send packages or correspondence for us to pass along to your sponsored child or women’s group.
Also, please note that we have no way for you to contact the children directly via phone or e-mail.
