Every year of secondary schooling that a girl receives can mean an increase of 15-25% in her future earnings. According to UNESCO, girls in the developing world complete on average 6.5 years of formal schooling. Prativa Thami (pictured) is finishing up grade 8 and therefore is already ahead of the curve.
